Born and raised in Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii, Kawika moved to Tacoma in 2006 to study at the University of Puget Sound. While pursuing a major in Communication Studies, he studied music and took lessons for enjoyment. Having originally entered the School of Music as a pianist, it was there that Kawika learned of his passion for singing. Locally, Kawika has performed on the stages of Tacoma Little Theatre and Tacoma Musical Playhouse.
